On July 4, 2014, Arnon Vered’s championship battle came to an end. Diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in March of 2013, Arnie never let his positive attitude and zest for life falter. He was the President of the Arnon/Ron Engineering group of companies, a business and community leader, proud philanthropist and devoted father and husband. His memory will always live on, as will his legacy. Arnie will be forever missed.

On Sunday, April 13, 2014 Arnon Corporation participated in the EY Run for Reach 29th annual run event.

Arnon Corporation has been an avid sponsor of the Run for Reach for many years. 2013 marked the first year that Arnon entered a corporate team in the 5km run Team Challenge. This year, we had 5 teams totaling 21 participants who pounded the pavement for the charitable run and finished with great success!

Congratulations to all who took part in this fun and rewarding event. We look forward to recruiting more runners for next year!

At a ceremony held at Carleton University on April 12, 2014, Arnon Vered received the Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship from Ontario Lieutenant-Governor David Onley. He was only one of eight recipients of this prestigious award.

Cancer Champion shares his story and helps raise funds for Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.

You’re not likely to hear Ottawa businessman and community leader Arnie Vered refer to himself as “a cancer survivor”. It’s a term he avoids using as he embarks on the biggest challenge of his life; beating a disease that claims an estimated 75,000 Canadians each year.

Congratulations to Team Arnon for raising $10,367.00 in the 2013 Walk for Memories and thank you to all their supporters. There were 592 people out walking for the Alzheimer Society, comprising of 85 teams.Team Arnon achieved a 4th place standing in the top provincial teams, and Arnie moved into 2nd place for top provincial fundraiser.

Ladies and Gentleman,

Tonight is a special night for me, I got a haircut yesterday, bought a new suit and my best friend bought me a new tie.

Also it is a special day for our good family friend, Stephen Victor who is celebrating his birthday today with 400 of his closest friends.

It is truly an honour to receive 2012 Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Congratulations to the other well deserving award recipients. It is a great feeling to be able to celebrate with each of you, this prestigious recognition.

Mayor Watson today announced the 15 residents who will be inducted into the new Order of Ottawa during a formal ceremony at City Hall on November 22. This prestigious civic award was established to recognize “outstanding residents and meritorious service within our city”.

Sara Vered is one of this year’s inductees. She is an accomplished community builder. The recipient of an honorary doctorate from the University of Ottawa, she is a great friend to institutions of higher learning in the National Capital Region, as well as the National Arts Centre.

In addition, Sara’s steadfast commitment to the University of Ottawa’s Heart Institute has had an extraordinary impact on the evolution of the Heart Institute, embracing the vision of defeating heart disease in this century.
